Google Buzz
Hello Friends!
Ok, Ok… Since I put up my opt in box on Facebook, I have been asked over and over.. “How did I do that?!” Take a look at mine:

Well.. here it  is ..a great little Facebook marketing tip to capture and generate  leads right from your profile page!

Facebook is one of the hottest places to hang out and cultivate relationships with like-minded people online. Facebook has to be an absolute must in your social networkingt activities.

The left-hand side of your profile page  is a great place to optimize marketing. You have the option of putting an opt in box right here! This is a way to capture leads straight from your profile page.  This is also a subtle way to do so- without spamming on other people’s walls or inboxes.

You just have your profile page there for anybody who wants to see it.  You offer an incentive for opting in- so you are not asking anyone to buy anything from you- but the opposite- giving something away!  This makes it far easier to add people to your list.

You always want to be building your list in internet marketing.  So this is a great strategy to do this! When you offer something to your friends and followers here for free, what you get in return is getting to add them to your list.

I highly recommended taht you  implement it right away and take advantage of all your visitors and traffic on your profile page! You need to have an auto responder account to make this work. Having an aoto responder account is a must, not optional thing to have when you are iternet marketing. If you dont have one yet, you can get one her, through Get Response or here, through Aweber.

So how you get this optin box on your Facebook profile?

On the bottom left of your page you will see an application link.  Click on applications, browse more applications, click on search box,  click HTML profile box,  click on go to application, click allow. Then, go to your Get Response account or Aweber account and grab your HTML code.  Copy and paste the code.

You can use HTML code here and friendlier text to make your text a different color and more eye appealing. If you need help withy HTML code, visit   http://www.webmonkey.com for a current HTML cheat sheet. When you are finished, you simply click update. From here,  go back to your Facebook profile, click applications in the bottom left corner again, edit applications , find HTML profile box, edit settings, click allow, add, then go back to your profile page. g

Whenyou get back to your profile page, click on the boxes, click on edit, move to wall tab. Now it should be over on your left-hand side!

Thi is  a very effective strategy to add a lot of your Facebook friends  onto your e-mail list. What is more important is this is a very subtle way to do so without spaming. Your friends will decide for themselves to take action and enter their information into your opt in box, so thyey are in control of the decision. Exactly what you want within the realms of marketing in social networks!

Good luck to you- now go out there and add your opt in box and grow your list!

To Our Success,

Julianna Brower

Thanks for sharing this easy how to do, to add an opt-in box on Facebook – this is also, something that I have been wanting to do, myself. I had tried to do it once before but it did not align correctly and it was at a time when Facebook was changing the Profile Pages around. So now, this has motivated me to attempt to add my form back in again – Getting much motivation from my Tribe Mates today, Yeah !!!

Everything does change so fast that it’s hard to keep up with everything. I’m glad you made this so clear and UP-TO-DATE. Like Lori, I was starting this process, then FB changed and I just decided to wait until I could figure out how to do it on the new FB.

You did it for me! I’m glad I checked in. I always learn so much on your blog, Julianna, and today is no different. Thanks.

    Hi Julianna,

Lots of great information here; growing a list is very important, and this is an excellent way to add people to your list. Why? Monetizing your list (figuring out how you can make money by learning what information or services your list needs) is how one makes money online.

There are a couple of schools of thought on list building. Many people believe the bigger the list, the better. Others believe that the quality of the list is the most important consideration. These are two topics I’ll be discussing at my blog (which isn’t up yet, but will be shortly)

By the way, you are a natural on video. Have you considered using either Camtasia or Screenflow to provide instructions on how to get youy optin page on Facebook. I’ll bet people would really appreciate being able to watch you do it (they can stop the video, and do the task, until they’ve completed the process).

Looking forward to our March mini-tribe endeavors!

Great tip Juliana! I completely agree that adding an optin to your Facebook profile can bring in a ton of people. I love the point that you make about how most of the ads that we see people are trying to sell something and it is nice to offer something for free instead. Building your list is really what it is all about!

This is such a great idea that I wonder why more people haven’t caught on to it yet. I actually have gotten a number of leads from having an optin form on my facebook profile so it’s definitely worth trying out.

Though lately I’ve been testing out other options, such as using banners that lead to my capture page. This seems to also work fairly well, so it’s something else people could try.

Great stuff Julianna and I look forward to coming back for more in the future :)
